Part 13: Land of milk and honey

“’A land flowing with milk and honey’. Rabbi Eliezer says: milk – this is the milk of fruit, and honey – this is date honey”.

Some say the milk is goat milk, but are talking about milk dripping from the goats on its own (רש”י על מגילה ו, א), with the milk symbolizing fertility and abundance. Milk when a product of pregnancy is the symbol of a fertile land.
